Sun enters Pisces: 6:04 PM EST
Chiron enters Aries
As I said before… (at the end of last
month)
Pisces is the beginning of the end of winter: In many ways neither winter nor
spring. As the Sun journeys through Pisces it will conjunct Neptune, square
Jupiter and sextile Mars, Saturn and Pluto in earth signs. Before the Sun
finishes here Mercury will go retrograde in Pisces; all of which might remind
us to hold on tightly and let go lightly: To resist as best we can, the manic
pull of the culture around us, even as we marvel at its beauty and horror.
Chiron reminds us that each of us feels the wound in a particular way, as
individuals yet it is this very wounded-ness that we have in common.

Full Moon: 00 degree of Virgo: 10:54 AM EST
Mercury conjunct Neptune and sextile Saturn
Here in paradise we can’t ignore our deep attachment to the way things are, the ease of shopping for food, making a call, hot water and electricity. What would will it take for us to share? Anxiety rises when Virgo and Pisces are on the scene because we know deeply that we are all here together and that the greatest gift is to care for one another.
This full moon is particularly special in my way of seeing things. At zero degrees Virgo it conjuncts the powerful fixed star, Regulus. This fixed star reminds us on a planetary level, that to get where we need to go requires the fierce feminine impulse to step in. That energy of course, lives within and without us.
If you’ve a mind to participate in an exercise take some time between 09:47 AM and 11:20 when the moon is at zero and conjunct Regulus. What do you hear, what do you have to say regarding the fierce feminine? Let me know! This voice is growing stronger on our planet every day, revealing the way.

Let the moon guide our journey.

Mercury square Jupiter
Venus conjunct Pluto
Once there were the ten thousand things. Now there are the ten million. Still we are embodied creatures with opposable thumbs and outrageous minds, given to hallucinations of all sorts. Be wary and deeply present to the gap between fantasy and imagination. If you aren’t sure which is which, ask your body: s/he or they who is closest to you, made of the stuff which makes you, you. We are such stuff as dreams are made on; …

You could take an image from a dream –
day or night – and weave it into something you make; a story, a pot of soup, a
text or an intention. Any and every thing can grow from that.

February 27
Sun sextile Mars
For those of us still covered in snow or ice it is time to prepare for the work ahead, when the ground thaws. In the mind. It has been shown that exercise done in the mind alone prepares the body, even strengthens it.

The cleverest among us take the shards of
brokenness and make something completely new. May we all be so clever as cultures
shatter and paradigms shift.

Venus enters Aquarius, sextiles Chiron
They say it takes three to four
generations to recover from trauma. Meanwhile we sprout new ones on account of
things such as lost opportunity, broken hearts, betrayals and acts of God (so
called). There is always the possibility to let the wounding be the medicine
that heals us into wisdom and gratitude. Just because…

Mercury stationery retrograde
Mercury isn’t the only planet that appears retrograde to us on Earth, but it is the most frequent. We love to worry about it. But what if we just did what it suggests? What if we befriended it by spending some time with our dreams and our feelings? What if we got a little lost and possibly miraculously found? What if we listened for the still, small voice and identified less with singularities in favor of the connections? What if we noticed the discrepancies between that which we feel and what we think? It’s a three week practice. In the words of Carl Jung: “Solitude is for me a fount of healing which makes my life worth living. Talking is often torment for me, and I need many days of silence to recover from the futility of words.”
Be especially aware of it 14th, 15th and 24th.
March 6
New Moon: 15 degrees Pisces: 11:04 AM EST
Uranus enters Taurus
Sun conjunct Neptune
Big Astro news day: A new moon as well as an outer planet taking up residence in a new sign. How do we begin again, forge ahead into the new, as the myth of progress dies and capitalism is gasping for air? Be aware the pundits who think they know. Better to follow the ones who aren’t sure what’s next but know a broken system when they see one.
If you’re looking for help setting intention for the New Moon ask yourself if this is a dream, if you know what is real, if you can reconcile the dream with so-called reality. It takes a quality which some call ‘soul’ to bring finite and infinite together.

Sun sextile Saturn
Time to check for substance. What holds
water in your life? Strengthen the things that remain, but only if they will
help sustain your life over time.

Mars sextile Neptune
A great time to shore up the banks of
your river so it has less chance of flooding. Every effort is worth making
today.

Sun sextile Pluto
Sun square Jupiter
Stand your ground when it comes to
judgments and/or criticisms, be they from the inner world or outer. It only
weakens us to believe we are not good enough, which isn’t to say we should
strut through life like cocky roosters. When we listen to the ephemeral, albeit
genuine quality of soul that guides us, each and all, we generally come to
understand that the only feedback really worth considering is that which is
offered in kindness.

Mars trine Saturn
Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde
Some days are better for being, others
for doing. Today is equal parts of each. The doing is about taking care of business,
making the right effort. The being is about listening. Voices from the depths
want our attention. If you have a persistent thought or memory that rises,
unbidden and perhaps unappreciated, today is a day to listen to it, to make
room for it and possibly to integrate it so it no longer troubles.

MercurysquareJupiterLook back, if you can, to February
22, when this aspect happened for the first time. Mercury retrograde often
gives us more than one chance at things. The issue is fantasy versus
imagination. Or perhaps we should say escape versus engagement and problem
solving (despite the odds). It can be hard to distinguish these things in our
fast-paced, two dimensional world but one makes you vulnerable to the
manipulations of the age, the other offers a possibility for adaptation and
survival.

Mercury sextile Pluto
What is really real? We see this differently
at 20, at 40, at 60. Does reality actually change or is it simply a matter of
perspective? The earth is our mother. That is real. She is the matter. And she
matters. How does your one precious life express this?
THE END
If you hanker for Sun Sign astrology you can read my sun sign writings and a whole lot more in Vitality Magazine.
You may wonder why all the days of the month are not represented in this column. What I have done with the days that are missing. On those days there are no mutual aspects between the planets and the Sun or Moon. The wanderers give those days to the ‘wayfaring moon’ only. The Moon by sign and phase always carries the underlying mood of the moment: The fluctuation of emotion. If you would like to be guided by the moon , just click on that when you see it above or go to juliesimmonsast on Twitter.
