Insights for the Month of Gemini
May 20
Sun enters Gemini: 04:31 PM EDT
Each year the Sun enters Gemini. Each year, the same but different. That’s just the way of it. Gemini challenges us to live with change. Some people think this means they can do sleight of hand: Pick pockets: Fabricate truth. It’s up to each individual to discern the difference between impermanence and deliberate chaos-making. This year Gemini is delighted by Jupiter and troubled by Neptune. Jupiter suggests it’s time for a good time. Neptune suggests that nothing is as it seems. Both are happening. We can manage it if we stay connected to the elusive portal of the present moment. Focusing on our breathing helps. Breathing is a Gemini thing; constantly changing; powerful yet subtle. As well, we need to remember not to fly too high. On the other hand, there is fun to be had, so have it. The feeling of this aspect has been with us since May and lingers through July. The worst of it is inflation (of all kinds), the best is playful wisdom combined with a deepening understanding and respect for change.
May 25
New Moon: 4 degrees Gemini: 08:15 AM EDT
Venus square Pluto
All New Moons are times of intention, whether we know it or not. This one is about living in a world where what is said, read or heard may or may not be true. You can go crazy looking for the One True Thing or you can live in a constantly changing world, even as your intention is not to be deceived. What lives at the core? Or is it more like peeling an onion?
Passion and obsession when overdone can turn to ash faster than you can say, The Boy Who Married an Eagle. Reign it in. For your own good.
May 28
Mercury sextile Neptune
A wonderful day for a daydream: A respite from intensity. But there is no following the dream just yet. Tomorrow is another day with different energies.
May 29 30
Mars opposite Saturn
Mars sextile Uranus
Through genuine effort to learn and/or teach, with an eye to present conditions which may unfold future possibilities, we could be truly inspired to catch a glimpse of how chaos, which is change might bring a real and possible world into being; if not for us, for the children. It’s a tall order but we do not move through time. Time moves through us.
May 31
Mercury trine Pluto
If you’re still holding on to that daydream from 28th you might make some steps toward bringing it closer to reality. Something needs to be built today – even if it’s just with Leggo.
June 1
Venus trine Saturn
Passions that were thwarted around May 25th have matured and developed; ready to reveal themselves but with stature. We arrive at a time to be open to change and relatively free of fear and therefore the need to control. Many things are possible when we are not fearful.
June 3
Venus conjunct Uranus
Sun trine Jupiter
June is bustin’ out all over. Enthusiasm wins the day. Watch out for the pompous or overly righteous. They have no business making folks feel bad; whether they are voices inside your head or out.
June 4
Sun square Neptune
Mars enters Cancer
It is not a weakness to care for each other but it is deluded to think you can bully or manipulate people into being something they are not. Sooner or later the truth will out, the masks come off, the glamour fades and you see that, all along you wanted them to change so you could feel better, not necessarily what the other person wanted at all.
June 6
Venus enters Taurus
Mercury enters Gemini
Venus and Mercury take up residence in their own signs today. We say, they are at home. If they were actually people they would live half the year in Taurus and Gemini respectively (each of them has two houses, you could say. Venus also is at home in Libra, Mercury in Virgo). When a planet is at home it does a really good job of doing what it does best.
Venus in Taurus senses the world quite literally through taste, touch smell, sight and hearing. These are the doors of perception. Each one of them works best when we are fully present. Remembering what was or anticipating what could be actually shuts these doors down.
Mercury in Gemini is the winged messenger; the mind that travels on the winds of change; relentlessly moving hither and yon. Mercury is at home here but not especially ‘’dignified’ Mercury in Gemini is curious, clever, and tricky: A magician or alchemist at work.
Watch for the actions of these energies as they interact with other planets: Mercury till 21st and Venus, for the whole month.
June 9
Full Moon 18 Degrees Sagittarius 9:10 AM EDT
May the arrow of truth hit the mark even as we tolerate that our truths are not all the same. All roads lead to the same place and it’s a place that cannot really be known. May our arrows hit their mark and not each other.
June 13
Mercury trine Jupiter, square Neptune
Imagine a sentence where the words ‘confused’ and ‘delighted’ could co-exist. Then decide if it’s heaven or hell. Of course there is always the third alternative: the kaleidoscope of life. Fascinating to watch, even when it doesn’t add up. There is quite literally no end to learning. And no matter how much we think we know, it’s only ever part of the whole. Which isn’t to say we are happy about the coral reefs or insensitive to the cruelties and injustices which are happening on our planet. We are just human, once and for always. And it’s an amazing world when you turn toward it.
June 15
Sun opposite Saturn
The time for dazed and confused has come and gone. Now it’s about how hard you work and where you focus your energies. Exciting possibilities are afoot but only the ones that have substance will fly.
June 16
Neptune stationary retrograde
Mermaids are singing; fog is creeping in on cat’s feet; nothing is as it seems. And yet we are more than willing to dive for pearls.
June 18
Sun sextile Uranus
Mercury opposite Saturn
An absolutely perfect time to think outside the range of what’s usual, even as you apply rigor and expect excellence.
June 20
Venus sextile Neptune
Mercury sextile Uranus
Open as many doors as you can. Each one has a possibility for beauty and value as well as insight and clever new ideas.
